Maldives Health Declaration Form is a record that must be presented to the national House of Assembly before or during the yearly general election. The purpose of this document is to commit Maldives to achieving universal health care coverage for all its residents, with special reference to women and children. The declaration made is to create an independent sovereign government in terms of health issues. The Maldives is a tiny island country located in the Indian Ocean, off the coast of Yemen. Because of its strategic location, it's been a favorite venue for diplomatic talks and trade discussions involving different nations, including the Maldives. It's also a favourite venue for the yearly meetings of the World Trade Organization (WTO).

Presently, the Maldives has among the very best health care delivery systems in the world with a nationwide health care system managed by an inter-ministerial committee. However, there are lots of challenges that the nation is facing, including the challenge of combating the international economic downturn; the deteriorating infrastructure and the restricted accessibility to quality health services because of safety constraints. The Maldives has made an attempt to reform the inefficient public health program by developing the Strategic Health Exchange; an internet database that provides patients with information on quality and treatment solutions. However, despite these attempts, the declaration still lags behind other nations when it comes to healthcare policy. Because of this, the Maldives Health Declaration has been adopted in order to ratchet up international investment and aid from the country's healthcare system.

The Maldives Health Declaration covers a wide array of topics, including the environment, human rights, community development, family and communal harmony, international health, immigration, global legal issues, occupational health, sport and recreational health, religion and belief, cleanliness and sanitation, travel and tourism, employees' compensation, women and child development, and political stability and security. Although most members of this community are not conscious of this kind, nearly all Maldives residents are required to register with the regional Health Department to get health services. Registration is mandatory for every citizen, male or female, young or old. The process of registration entails submitting a birth certificate or identity card; receiving immunization certificates; finishing prescribed eligibility records; and getting a background check, including reference checks and drug testing. However, once all documents are filed, the person is able to get medical support at low cost.

Along with the aforementioned programs, Maldives has also established its own system of community health services for senior citizens known as the Senior Citizen Health Care System (SCHC). The SCHC was employed to boost general quality of life for seniors living in the Maldives. It aims at promoting healthy lifestyles, promoting self-sufficiency, reducing societal stigma, and preventing diseases. Considering that the SCHC was established in 2021, over twenty Maldives Islands have been included; St. Lucia, Antigua, Bonaire, and Barbados. The government of Maldives is concerned in the management of the SCHC and all residents are responsible for adhering to the key application fundamentals.

Regardless of the Maldives Health Declaration, the country is not without its own problems. On the mainland, the overall population is overweight or obese with high blood pressure and diabetes, which result in heart problems and premature death. On the islands, but the prevalence of such conditions is much less because the inhabitants consume quite low levels of fat and cholesterol and have low consumption of animal products and tobacco products. But, high sodium and potassium intake, as well as poor dietary habits, may put the residents at risk of high blood pressure and diabetes. Because of this, the government is encouraging people to monitor their blood pressure and diet; visit their doctor on a regular basis, and choose antipsychotic drugs if necessary.

Overall, the Maldives Health Declaration is an attempt by the authorities to provide its citizens with the resources essential to live a healthy life. Even though the declaration may have gaps in coverage and effectiveness, the machine itself is comprehensive. But, residents are invited to go to their doctors regularly, follow the specified guidelines, and ask for medical assistance when it is needed. The statement does not necessarily mean the healthcare system is ideal, but it will offer residents some expect and assistance when they need it .
